Wild Heart Art Creative Expression for adults at the Galveston Arts Center
Wild Heart Art is an experiential program where the focus is directed toward the creative process as you dive in and explore your own unique creativity. Facilitators, Cherie Ray and Kay Kemp, invite you to play, express and connect to creativity in a supportive atmosphere that is free of critique, judgments and rules. A variety of classes and workshops are offered this summer and fall at the Galveston Arts Center. Click "more" for dates and details.

Galveston Senior Citizens' Center Art Program
is a combined offort between the Galveston Arts Center and the Senior Citizens' Center that provides art classes on fundamentals and techniques specifically targeted to the frail elderly attending this multipurpose facility. By bringing arts education into this environment, these students benefit from the opportunity to challenge their minds and skills. Classes are offered once a week throughout the year.


Edgewater Retirement Community Art Program
is similar to the Senior Citizen's Center in providing art programming for the occupants of this residential environment. Participants are encouraged to stimulate their creative abilities and enhance their artistic facilities. Classes are offered twice a month throughout the year.


St Vincent's House Art Program
is designed to provide art and arts education activities for at-risk children at this community center. Group projects are encouraged to promote cooperation and communal effort, while still promoting individual creativity and developing skills. Classes meet three to six times a week, and involve on-going community projects.


Ronald McDonald House Art Program
is an on-site program producing art activities for both the resident children and their families. Activities are presented which allow the children and their parents to interact and take their minds off of their immediate situation. Classes meet once a week throughout the year.


Women's Crisis Center Art Program
provides on-site arts activities for the children of women who find themselves victims of domestic violence and in need of the shelter the Women's Crisis Center provides. The program functions as a means for the children to express themselves as well as an outlet for their emotions. Classes meet twice a week throughout the year.


Child Life Children's Hospital Art Program
provides art instruction for the children of Moody Independent School District - the school system for children hospitalized at the University of Texas Medical Branch Galveston. Specialized instruction for children on dialysis is included, with professional artists guiding young patients in creating their artwork. Classes meet two hours each week throughout the year.


Galveston Target store supports Art for All programs!
The Galveston Arts Center received a grant from our local Target store to support our Art for All art education outreach programs. This is the first time the GAC has received a Target Community grant. We are honored and sincerely appreciate this support.
